FAQs

What is IRAP Analytics?

IRAP Analytics provides leadership in implementing analytic solutions by hosting a centralized, accessible and secure interface for data and reports. Interactive dashboards display information for admissions, enrollment, employees and more.

Through the interactive reports on these pages, we intend to provide meaningful analysis for administrators and planners who need to view current trends or the history of student, course and enrollment data. Our reports also include detailed analyses of employee statistics and space management utilization and inventories.

Contact irap@appstate.edu to request access to existing reports or to inquire about other data needs.

How do I request access to the interactive reports?

When you see the special lock icon, reports on that page will require an ASU login.

Contact irap@appstate.edu to request access to existing reports or to inquire about other data needs.

Why does my browser say “This Site Can’t Be Reached” when I try to view a report?

If you can see the other content, like links to a report, but cannot reach a report, the most likely reason for an error message is that you are not signed up for report access. Contact irap@appstate.edu to request access.

This error can also mean that you are not using a device on the campus network. You must be using a computer, tablet or phone on the campus network, either WiFi or wired, to view any report requiring a login. If you are located off-campus, you can access the reports via udesk.appstate.edu. Unfortunately, using only the campus VPN from an off-campus location does not give you a campus network address for use with these reports.

If you have any additional questions about access or are experiencing any issues, contact irap@appstate.edu

I have an idea for a dashboard. Can you build one for my group?

One of the goals of IRAP is to provide analyses relevant to your goals. We would be happy to discuss any ideas you might have for a report or a complete dashboard, whether for the entire campus or a more specific group.

Contact irap@appstate.edu to let us know about other data needs.

How do I save a report? In other words, can I use filters, save my choices and then print or download the results?

Public reports are limited to the capabilities of Tableau Public and will have only the options of downloading an image or pdf copy of what you see on your device.

In the login-protected areas that are listed under Reports Requiring ASU Login, the capabilities for other options vary with the project that was created for the dashboard. Some faculty and staff will be able to save a filtered version of a dashboard and some will be able to download with more options.

For further details about dashboards and their project categories, contact irap@appstate.edu to let us know about your data and reporting needs.

Can I get notices of new data or reminders to check a report for updates?

In the login-protected areas that are listed under Reports Requiring ASU Login, the Subscribe option for some reports will appear on the Tableau toolbar at the lower edge of the dashboard.

If the envelope icon with a plus symbol next to the word Subscribe appears in the toolbar, you can click on the icon and provide details to have update notices sent to your email. Reports that are updated only once a term or provide only historical data will not show the Subscribe option.

For further details about dashboards and questions about features you would like to see, contact irap@appstate.edu to let us know about your data and reporting needs.

Can I make a list of favorites for easier browsing of the reports?

Your browser has the capability of saving bookmarks or favorites from the individual web pages of the reports on this site.

If you would like to have more options for saving your own list of reports or groups of dashboards, we have a Tableau site available to some faculty and staff which expands the capatilities of our web-embedded reports.

For further details about reports or dashboard collections, contact irap@appstate.edu to let us know about your data and reporting needs.
