The Appalachian State University Fact Book is intended to be an authoritative reference to quantifiable data about students, faculty and staff, and financial and physical resources. It presents a summary of facts about Appalachian that can be used by administrators, faculty, staff, alumni, and others who require information. The primary source for the information reported is the collection of electronic files and paper reports submitted by Appalachian to the General Administration of The University of North Carolina and used by that agency to meet various State and Federal reporting requirements. Other sources include various reports prepared throughout the year for scheduled distribution to members of the campus community. A Fact Book should be a relevant, functional, dynamic tool.
