Fall 2021 - Spring 2022
UPPC worked on Strategic Plan with strategic priorities drafts posted online for feedback.
Fall zoom listening & feedback sessions, online feedback form

Fall 2020 - Spring 2021
Strategic planning process for five-year plan put on pause.
Workgroup charged to develop a "Bridge" Strategic Plan to include priorities and changes due to the global pandemic.
Bridge Strategic Plan approved by Board of Trustees March 2021.
New full UPPC charged spring 2021 to continue working on the next full five-year strategic plan.

Fall 2019 - Spring 2020
Initial drafting of next strategic plan. Organized around the current Strategic Plan Strategic Direction areas. Open Forums held early Spring 2020 semester.
Work on updated mission statement begun.

Fall 2018 - Spring 2019
UPPC met monthly with campus stakeholders to learn achievements related to the current plan as well as work that should continue as the current Strategic Plan is coming to a close.
Campus feedback requested.

Spring 2016 - Fall 2018
SPAC and UPPC meet as needed to review progress on the strategic plan and to review measurement instruments and results.

Fall 2015 - Spring 2016
The Strategic Planning Advisory Council (SPAC) was formed and charged by the Provost with reviewing the Strategic Plan. Fifteen conversations regarding the Strategic Plan and campus priorities were held from October 2015 through January 2016.
The SPAC forwarded findings from the conversations to the UPPC to assist and guide them with their implementation of the Strategic Plan.

Fall 2013 - Spring 2014
UPPC held meetings twice a month and hosted open forums for campus. It presented a draft of the comprehensive Strategic Plan to Appalachian's Board of Trustees in December, and the final Plan was approved in March.

Mission Statement submitted to UNC General Administration for Board of Governors action.

March - May 2013
The UPPC held meetings twice a month toward developing a comprehensive strategic plan that was presented to Appalachian's Board of Trustees in Fall 2013.

January - February 2013
UPPC conducted a survey of internal and external stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni and friends) to gain feedback on Appalachian: who we are, what we do and our impact.

October - December 2012
UPPC identified Appalachian's strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats, and reviewed the university's statements of mission, essential character and core values.
