Each year, all administrative and educational support units are asked to report on the assessment of their operations. Assessment cycles for administrative and educational support units coincide with the fiscal year of July 1 to June 30. Continuous improvement reports should be completed as soon as possible during or after any cycle to help with planning and decision making. Reports are due October 1 following the end of the assessment cycle.
For annual continuous improvement reporting at Appalachian, administrative and educational support units use the Programs module in Xitracs for reporting on the specific outcome(s) the unit has measured during the fiscal year. Instructions for using the Xitracs Portal for assessment reporting are available here.
Units are not expected to assess every outcome every year, but they should choose a manageable number of outcomes to assess in any given year. If a unit has already completed a periodic comprehensive review, their assessment report should focus on the outcomes documented from the executive summary completed during the review.
